Police Arrest Mom After Waitress Claims She Was Drinking Alcohol While Breastfeeding

"I mean, no good deed goes unpunished these days."

A waitress is claiming she was fired after calling the police on a customer who reportedly consumed numerous alcoholic beverages while breastfeeding a 7-month-old baby.

Jackie Conners, a server at Gusano's Pizzeria in Conway, Ark., called authorities last Wednesday and the mother in question, 28-year-old Tasha Adams, was subsequently arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, KARK-TV reported.

KNWA-TV has more:

The now unemployed waitress also told KNWA-TV that the four individuals at the table were all inebriated and were passing the baby around to one another. At some point, she noticed Adams drinking alcohol and informed managers of the situation. No one did anything, Conners claimed, so she took action into her own hands.

"Me being a mom, and just seeing something like that and seeing a baby that can't speak for itself having a parent do something like that is just unacceptable," Conners told the outlet.

The former waitress claimed she was fired a few days later for her actions, however a manager at the restaurant, who wouldn't elaborate, said that the breastfeeding scenario "wasn't the main reason" Conners lost her job.

"I'm shocked that anyone would be punished for something that's supposed to be good," Conners told KNWA-TV. "I mean, no good deed goes unpunished these days."

Adams, a mother of three, claims that the situation was "all blown out of proportion," according to The Daily Mail, and that she wants to speak out, but her lawyer has advised her to wait until her January court date.

"No one is seeing my side. I just want everyone to know I am not a horrible person," she said. "I have a family to take care of, and that’s all I care about."
