Pastor Rides a Horse During Wild Sermon Church Says Led 157 People to Become Christians

"When we submit to the master's hand is when we find our purpose and God can bless us."

An Ohio pastor very literally delivered a wild sermon in front of his congregation on Sunday when he rode -- and attempted to tame -- a horse.

Rev. Lawrence Bishop II of Solid Rock Church in Lebanon, Ohio, set up a ring in the middle of the sanctuary, complete with a tarp and dirt, brought in a horse and attempted to use the illustration to teach a lesson about fully submitting to God and conquering life's challenges, The Christian Post reported.

The event, which the church advertised on social media for days before it unfolded, was called "Conquer the Beast."

"Many consider a wild bucking horse to be a beast, and it's a simple analogy. When we submit to the masters hand is when we find our purpose and God can bless us," the church posted on Facebook. "If people don't support the idea (itself) hopefully they'll support the motive of doing something unique to win souls to Jesus! God Bless!"

The event was used to attract people to the church and to reach attendees with the Christian message -- feats that were apparently accomplished.

In addition to local and national media attention, Solid Rock Church posted on its Facebook page Sunday that 157 souls were "saved," meaning that these individuals officially became Christians.

In addition to live attendees, 465 people tuned in live to watch Bishop ride the horse and preach a biblical message.

WCPO-TV noted that Bishop was joined by Bobbie Williams, a former Cincinnati Bengal, who preached about the challenges he has faced in his own life.
