A man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 15-years in prison and ordered to pay a hefty fine of $300,000 within one week for posting nude pictures of his own daughter and her friends on the Internet.
According to KYW-TV, the man, whose name is being withheld to protect the identify of the victims, admitted to setting up a camera in his daughter's bathroom and secretly operating it for years — starting from when she was only 14-years-old.
Prosecutor Michelle Rotella, who called the "extremely heinous and vile," said the man even photographed his daughter's friends.
“There were thousands of photographs that were taken of her friends in bathing suits, when they came over to take prom pictures, as they just hung out at her house,” she said, according to KYW-TV.
The man cropped the photos of the girls to remove their faces, then uploaded them to the Internet, Rotella said.
However, before the man was sentenced, his family asked the judge for leniency — with his own daughter even penning a letter to the court saying she had forgiven him, according to KYW-TV.
