The 2014 Winter Olympics begin in Sochi next week and a new compilation of images posted to the Internet reveal the dramatic transformation of the mid-sized resort city into a premiere Olympic venue.

Satellite images snapped by Google and DigitalGlobe show how $50 billion morphed the seaside resort town into a location equipped with an Olympic stadium, village for athletes, arenas and media center, according to Canada.com.
