Imagine Saying These Three Words to the Person Who Killed Your Two Girls

The Oregon women who killed two young girls after hitting them with her vehicle received no jail time, but forgiveness for her crime while in court on Friday morning.

19-year-old Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros was found guilty Jan. 15 for two counts of failure to perform the duties of a driver when she continued to drive down the road after fatally striking two little girls with her SUV last October, according to KGW-TV.

Anna Dieter-Eckerdt, 6, and Abby Robinson, 11, both died. One of their mothers had a message for the woman who committed the crime Friday.

"I forgive you," Susan Dieter-Robinson, Anna's mom and Abby's stepmom, told Garcia-Cisneros. "I do."

"I knew it was an accident," she added. "The person who hit them didn't know it had happened."

"I know you have a good heart and conscious," Jane Samuels, Anna's stepmom echoed just moments before. "Listen to those two as you go on in life."

The family had asked the judge for no jail time, KGW-TV reported. Garcia-Cisneros apologized to the them in open court before the sentencing.

"There are many things I wish I could have done differently, and I think about this everyday," she said. "I should have gone back. I should have thought about you guys, and I didn't. And as much as I can say I'm sorry, it won't bring them back."

Ultimately, Garcia-Cisneros was reportedly sentenced to three years of probation and 250 hours of community service. Her boyfriend had previously been sentenced to 13 months in prison for attempting to destroy evidence of the crash by taking the vehicle for a car wash after the incident.

Garcia-Cisneros' next battle will now be with Immigration and Customs Enrollment, since she is in the U.S. illegally, KGW-TV reported.
