Cop Pulls Over Driver for Traffic Violation… Then Has to Let Him Go After Making ‘Rookie’ Mistake

A video uploaded to the Internet Sunday shows a police officer pull over a driver for what appears to be a simple traffic violation. But what happens when the cop steps out of his vehicle to confront the man is sending the footage viral.

The video, titled "Rookie Cop Screws Up," begins showing an unidentified officer exit his vehicle and approach the driver's window. However, as he walks forward, the car also moves forward and gently bumps into the detained man's truck.

Apparently, the officer's vehicle had slipped out of gear, causing the accident. And, while it didn't appear to do any damage, the officer's vivid embarrassment was clear and he let the driver leave the scene with only a warning.

"I got to let you go, man," he says. "Sorry about that. I appreciate it."

While it's not clear exactly where or when this incident took place, — Live Leak says it occurred on Feb. 16 — the video has received nearly 80,000 views at the time of publication.
