Local News Cameras Capture 'Miracle In the Making' While En Route to Another Story

"We happened to be on our way to a different story and we drove by..."

A local Fox affiliate in New York City was en route to the scene of a different story when they drove by a "miracle in the making" and captured it on film.

"Right here in the street is where that mother gave birth about an hour and a half ago," reporter Linda Schmidt explained before showing the video.

"We happened to be on our way to a different story and we drove by and we saw this huge crowd of people standing around this woman," she continued, adding that she and her camera man initially thought someone had simply fainted.

The woman who gave birth had reportedly walked to the corner of the street with her doorman, in an attempt to hail a cab to take her to the hospital.

The baby, however, wasn't going to wait.

"She was like, 'oh, my God, the baby's coming'," one witness told WNYW-TV. "And then I could see the baby's head coming out."

Several individuals offered their scarves to cover the newborn up and the woman and baby were both doing well at the hospital later, WNYW-TV reported.

Cameras captured the aftermath of the scene, showing the woman smiling as she was put in the back of an ambulance.
