But he's made a fan out of Piers Morgan.

"I sat next to David Koch at a dinner last year," Morgan tweeted Tuesday night. "One thing he's most definitely NOT is 'Un-American'. Rarely met a bigger patriot."

Morgan's remark comes after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said the Koch brothers were "un-American" and that Republicans, who are frequently supported by them, were "addicted to Koch."

The response to Morgan's tweet was a mix of shock and sarcasm from his followers.

"Thank you for being honest," said one reply. "Kind of shocked, but thanks."

"Lookin' for a job?" read another, referring to the oncoming cancelation of Morgan's CNN show.
