Woman Calls 911 to Plead for Help After Alleged Assault – When Officers Arrived, She Says She Got the Opposite

A Detroit police officer faces multiple charges relating to the alleged sexual assault of a woman that occurred when he was responding to a domestic disturbance at a residence.

On Oct. 30, 2013, the woman reportedly called 911 to ask for help after her boyfriend allegedly assaulted her.

Officer Deon Nunlee and his parter responded to the call. Nunlee reportedly went upstairs with the woman while his partner remained downstairs with the boyfriend.

The woman alleges that Nunlee sexually assaulted her while they were alone in an upstairs bedroom. He also allegedly told her he would be back later.

Following the incident, the unidentified woman told a couple friends about the assault and then reported to the police the next day.

When the allegation was first made, Nunlee was suspended with pay, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said Friday. When prosecutors determined a crime was likely committed, the officer was suspended without pay.

“Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Nunlee with three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree, one count of Assault with Intent to Penetrate and one count of Misconduct in Office,” WJBK-TV reports.
