Shock Footage Reportedly Shows Members of Nationalist Ukrainian Party Beat TV News Executive, Force Him to Resign
March 18, 2014
"Members of the 'Svoboda' forced NTU President Alexander Panteleimon [to] resign."
A new video posted online Tuesday reportedly shows members of a Ukrainian nationalist political party beating a television executive and forcing him to resign on the spot.
According to a Google translation of Ukrainian Pravda, "Members of the 'Svoboda' forced NTU President Alexander Panteleimon [to] resign."
Footage of the altercation shows an individual hit the television executive in the head, reportedly as he blamed him for broadcasting lies about his political party.
After Panteleimon issued a written resignation, Ukrainian Pravda reports "about 20 people shoved" him into an SUV and took him in "an unknown direction."
Additional details surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
Given the fragile situation in Ukraine, it is entirely possible this video could be staged for propaganda purposes or otherwise.
