Only Advice This Amazing Could Make a Video Go Viral Almost a Year After It Was Put on the Internet

In June of 2013, actor Wil Wheaton was asked by a girl how to deal with being bullied for being a “nerd” by her classmates at school. His response was so good that the video of it is going viral nearly a year after it was recorded at the Denver Comic Con last year.

"When a person makes fun of you, when a person is cruel to you, it has nothing to do with you," he said. "It’s not about what you said. It’s not about what you did. It’s not about what you love. It’s about them feeling bad about themselves."

Wheaton also discussed his own past experiences to relate to the girl, saying he was “called a nerd all the time because I didn’t like sports, I loved to read, I liked math and science, I thought school was really cool — and it hurt a lot.”

“Because It’s never OK when a person makes fun of you for something you didn’t choose,” he added. “You know, we don’t choose to be nerds. We can’t help it that we like these things — and we shouldn’t apologize for liking these things."

Since the video went viral over the weekend, a woman claiming to be the girl’s mother posted on Reddit that her daughter is no longer being bullied.

“We’ve talked about this moment a lot,” the mother wrote.
