The Reuters Story That Has Rush Limbaugh Fired Up: 'Media Propaganda at Its Worst

"media deception"

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh slammed Reuters on Wednesday for claiming in its headline, “Americans increasingly prefer Democrats on health care.”

Limbaugh said the story represents “media propaganda at its worst, or best, depending on how you look at it.” He also called the story a good example of "media deception."

Firstly, the poll Reuters cites to make the claim is an online poll, which “means it was meaningless,” he said.

“Guess what? Anybody can vote as they like — there were only 799 votes in this poll,” Limbaugh explained. “Less than 800 people in the so-called sample.”

“But most importantly, what does it mean that nearly a third of online voters prefer the Democrat plans for healthcare?” he continued. “The poll shows that one-third of Americans prefer the Democrats plan, and that gave us the headline: ‘Americans increasingly prefer Democrats on healthcare.’ It is still a majority, but the one-third is a little bit more than it was in their previous so-called poll.”
