He Came In Waving a Gun and Demanding Cash, but He's About to Realize Something That Will Leave Him Crying
July 02, 2014
"I still don't know how to work it."
A man was caught on camera robbing a Days Inn in Georgia, but when he realized he was being filmed, he had a bit of a meltdown.
According to WSB-TV, video captured by security cameras shows the man brandishing a gun and forcing a female clerk to open the hotel's cash drawer in DeKalb County.
Then, he turns and sees one of the hotel's two security cameras.
Apparently realizing the evidence such video could constitute, the man demanded that the clerk give him access to the hotel safe and security tapes, DeKalb County Police Detective P.A. Wright said.
The thief was apparently thwarted by the clerk's ignorance.
"He threatened her and said, ‘Hey, if you don't I'll shoot you,’" Wright said. "But she was like, 'I still don't know how to work it.'"
His gun-waving proven futile, the man soon gave up.
"At that point," said Wright, "he was so frustrated, he left crying."
The video captures the man's agonizing realization and subsequent face-covering flight.
WSB reported that the incident is still under investigation. Witnesses said the suspect was driving a black Oldsmobile Bravada. The clerk was unharmed.
