The Simple Phrase a 2-Year-Old Amputee Keeps Repeating As He Learns to Walk Has People Calling Him a ‘Champion and Inspiration’

"That's the spirit little man!"

Footage showing a 2-year-old double amputee walking while repeatedly saying "I got it, I got it" started going viral on the Internet Monday — and for good reason.

The inspirational video features Kayden Elijah leaning to walk and was originally shared on Facebook and YouTube by his mother, according to WGHP-TV.

"Little man is a champion and inspiration!!!" one individual commented on YouTube.

"Awww what a sweetie! That's the spirit little man!" another echoed.

Elijah was born with an Omphalocele, a rare birth defect which the infant’s abdominal origins stick outside the naval, his mother wrote on his GoFundMe page.

In January, the 2-year-old had his right foot and left leg amputated. According to his mother, doctors told her that he would likely not survive and recommended she terminate the pregnancy, WGHP reported. The video, posted July 4, shows him learning how to walk.

His mother is now raising money through an online fundraiser aimed at paying for more physical therapy and equipment.

"We are confident and faithful that God will make a way for him to have a wonderful life and not have to go to special schools. He is currently learning to walk with a walker even though the Doctors stated he wouldnt make it and to terminate the pregnancy," she wrote.
