Watch What Happens When a Group of 'Hamas Terrorists' Attempt to Infiltrate Israel by Sea

"Earlier today, Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel from the sea near Zikim..."

Graphic video footage released on Tuesday shows the exact moment the Israeli military “neutralized” a group of “Hamas terrorists” after they reportedly attempted to infiltrate Israel by sea. Officials believe the terrorists were likely heading either towards an Israeli Navy base or the community of Zikim.

The video allows viewers to see how Israel responded to the threat in shocking detail. The suspected Hamas terrorists are first seen emerging from the sea and later opening fire, likely at the Israeli military forces that engaged them during the failed infiltration.

As reported by the Times of Israel, “the soldier on the right can be seen unjamming his weapon — and then running for their lives as an air force helicopter fires upon them.”

All five of the suspected terrorists, believed to be naval commandos, were killed.

The official Israel Defense Forces Twitter account posted the video of the attempted infiltration on Tuesday.

“Earlier today, Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel from the sea near Zikim. We neutralized them,” the IDF wrote.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military launched what could be a long-term offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Tuesday, striking more than 100 sites and mobilizing troops for a possible ground invasion in what Israel says is an operation aimed at stopping a heavy barrage of rocket attacks.

The military said the open-ended operation aims to deliver a blow against the Islamic Hamas group, and end the rocket fire that has reached deeper into Israel in recent days.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
