What Has a Dramatic 2-Year-Old Weeping That He ‘Can’t Live Like This’

There are the "terrible twos" and there are the "dramatic twos."

An incident filmed by Matthew Reed's parents falls into the latter category. The point of contention? Band-Aid removal.

Upon hearing that his parents were about to have to take off the protective adhesive covering his healing wound, the toddler from Rainsville, Alabama, wrinkled is face in painful anticipation and said in all seriousness, "I can't live like this." It's a phrase he repeats over and over as his mother secured his leg and ripped the bandage off against his will. Even after the quick removal, the boy weeps that he just "can't live like this."

"I'm sorry," his mother, Mandi Reed, said, consoling her melodramatic son.

Now, it's not that his parents are torturous in their removal of Band-Aids. Matthew's father, Robert Reed, wrote on YouTube that he thinks his son heard the phrase "I can't live like this" when watching Disney's "Frozen" and has been using it ever since.

"Matthew had used this line in the past when he was mad, but we were fortunate enough to catch it on video this time. Please understand that we don't enjoy seeing him upset, but hearing a [2-year-old] say something so melodramatic is just hilarious," Robert Reed wrote.

After posting the video on July 25, Matthew's dramatic Band-Aid removal has started to get viral attention.
