Postal Worker Pulls Over, Then Gets Caught on Camera Doing Something That Might Have Her Facing Charges

"It's an extremely rare thing."

An Ohio postal worker could face charges after she was caught on camera throwing mail into a dumpster this week.

Footage captured by neighbors shows the unidentified woman exiting a USPS van, taking out mail and then throwing it into the trash.

“This is clearly unacceptable behavior that does not reflect the efforts of the thousands of professional, dedicated carriers in our workforce," USPS spokesman David Van Allen told KNXV-TV. "The Postal Service’s OIG (Office of Inspector General) is currently investigating this incident.”

"It's an extremely rare thing," he added. "I can't say it doesn't happen because it does, but when you look at the numbers the billions of pieces of mail delivered and the number of cases, it's really really low."

Nearby residents had wondered why they never received their mail Wednesday.

"I'm a little saddened by it because you rely on the postal system and they've failed you," Calvin Harper told KNXV.

"It's just unacceptable," resident Alicia Carr said. "Something needs to be done about that."

According to the local ABC affiliate, the postal worker was not seen delivering mail on her normal route Thursday.
