Grocery Store's Camera Captures 'Brutal' Purse Snatching That Left a 74-Year-Old Unconscious

"I could have been killed the way they slammed me."

Charlotte Dunaway sat in her living room with her arm in a sling and demonstrated how she would have brought down her attacker "flat on his nose" and would have hit him, if only she had the cane then that she is forced to use now.

The 74-year-old woman was flung to the ground by a purse snatcher while she was leaving a Ocoee, Florida, grocery store Friday morning. The attack knocked Dunaway unconscious and sent her to the hospital where she was treated for internal bleeding, a broken collarbone and several bruises, WKMG-TV reported.

"It was brutal," Dunaway told the news station of the attack.

And the whole incident was caught on the Publix surveillance camera. Watch the footage in WKMG's report:

"I could have been killed the way they slammed me, the way he slammed me on that floor. With the head injury I have, he could have murder on his hands," Dunaway told WKMG.

Dunaway also said the credit cards in her purse were later used at a gas station, something she hopes will help police track the perpetrator down.

WKMG reported that Ocoee police have not revealed any leads they might have in the case yet. According to the police report, the attacker was described as young, black male who was with two other black males.
