Incredible Wildlife Footage Captures What Happens When a Tenacious Mongoose Takes on a Pack of Lions

A video posted online Tuesday shows a tenacious Mongoose face off with a pack of four lions at the Masaai Mara National Park in Kenya.

The incredible footage, captured by photographer Jerome Guilaumot in 2011, but just released, depicts the tiny creature bravely confront the lions who fall back.

That, however, wasn't enough for this wild mongoose.

The small animal then launched a surprise attack against one of the lions before retreating to a nearby hold in the ground. But, instead of remaining safe below the surface, the mongoose resurfaced for yet another confrontation. After facing off with the pack of lions one more time, the mongoose scurried away to safety.

The video has since enthralled individuals watching on YouTube.

"It's not about the size," wrote one commenter, "It's about the heart."

"That was awesome," wrote another.
