Police Found Something Entirely Unexpected Inside Church's HVAC Ducts
September 10, 2014
Their elaborate plan was derailed...
Two suspected burglars allegedly planned to steal copper wiring from a church's roof, but their elaborate plan was apparently derailed when police arrived on the scene.
Authorites arrested Carl Henderson, 33, and Avery Maxwell, 22, Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m. after finding them inside HVAC ducts at the Mother Union AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware, according to WPVI-TV.
Police also arrested Angela Crowder, 32, who is suspected of waiting nearby in a getaway vehicle.

Tipsters had apparently alerted authorities that unauthorized individuals were on the church's roof.
But when local fire trucks arrived to help police gain access to the roof, the suspected burglars were nowhere to be found — that is, until authorities went into the church and found Henderson and Maxwell hiding inside the ducts, reported Delaware's News Journal.
Henderson and Maxwell were charges with burglary, burglar tool possession, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and conspiracy, while Crowder was charged with conspiracy.
