One Airline Has a Secret Weapon When It Comes to Returning Lost Items to Their Owners

"He can really do something no one else can."

If you forget something on a plane, there's a good reason to hope it was on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Not only does the airline have a team dedicated to reuniting travelers with their belongings, they have an adorable beagle who helps return the goods, according to a recent video posted by the airline. (He seems to get the scent of the owner from the lost object and then find him or her in the airport.)

"Personally, I think he is a real asset to the company," KLM's Chantal Kremer said of the beagle. "He can really do something no one else can."

"Our main goal is to return lost items to the owners as fast as possible. To do that, we monitor social media and the crew checks the plane after every flight," Sandra List, part of KLM's Lost & Found team, added. "I really like the fact that we are now getting some help with that."

The video showed passengers of all ages, surprised and delighted when the dog runs up with a forgotten cell phone or teddy bear.

"When you see the reactions of the passengers [it] really is amazing," Kremer said, petting the dog. "He drops by regularly and I have to admit, I do spoil him a bit."
