Ever Been So Caught Up in Your iPad You Didn't Know Where You Were Going? That Caused a Big Problem for One Guy in Australia
September 30, 2014
Have you ever found yourself so immersed in what's on your iPad that you lose track of what you're doing? Maybe you even tripped or walked into something. That's embarrassing, but it's not nearly as bad as what happened to one man in an Australian airport.
A man who just got off his flight at Sydney Airport on Sunday was apparently so engrossed in his gadget that he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. After realizing he'd forgotten something, he turned around and walked back — right past the security zone, triggering a terminal evacuation, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
As a precaution, all passengers were directed to leave the terminal and go back through the security screening process. The incident, which occurred in the airport's Terminal 3, caused flight delays for about an hour, according to a Sydney Airport Corporation spokesman. No flights in other terminals were affected.
Officials did not release the identity of the man, although they did indicate that he left the airport safely.

The incident occurred as Australia is on high alert amid international terror threats made by the Islamic State. Australian police earlier this month said they disrupted a plot to carry out public beheadings.
