When You See What's Inside This Shipping Container, Your Heart Might Melt a Little

It's not much, but it's a place to call his own.

In an unassuming video posted to YouTube Friday, a group of good Samaritans in Bucharest, Romania, provide an old man with a simple, powerful gift: a new home.

"About two weeks ago a friend of mine shared the story of this old man on facebook, I knew I had to do something so I asked people for help, quite fast we managed to raise 1000 euros and then a guy camed [sic] up with the shipping container," the video description reads.

The old man had been living in rough conditions, and while a shipping container may not seem like much of an improvement...

...the group furnished the container with a clean bed, food and other critical items.

"We enjoyed every second of it, the old man was so happy, he couldn't believe it," the video description said. "Nobody knows him, so I guess he felt lucky...being helped by complete strangers."

On Reddit, commenters said they appreciated the understated nature of the video.

"Simple, dignified accommodation for an old man in need," one commenter wrote. "Nothing over the top. Not wasteful in spending. Not promoting their own channel. Just hope the video inspires others to act. This is the way to do it."

The group said their next goal was to build the old man a fence, and they are soliciting small (5 Euro) donations on PayPal.
