Media Duped by Fake Tweet About Bill Cosby Scandal That Was Sent by Famed Actress' 'Impersonator

"I was NOT taking advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show!"

As the Bill Cosby saga continues, major media outlets were reportedly duped in recent days after a tweet attributed to Lisa Bonet, an actress who starred on "The Cosby Show," seemingly slammed the famed comedian. But there's only one problem: she isn't even on social media.

Bonet, who played Denise Huxtable on the hit show, has denied that she sent the message, which read, "According to the karma of past actions, one’s destiny unfolds, even though everyone wants to be so lucky . . . Nothing stays in the dark 4ever!"

At first, this was widely seen as a veiled message about Cosby.

After numerous outlets reported on the tweet, which was sent from the account @Lilakoi_Moon, Bonet released a statement through her manager denying that she is on Twitter and claiming that she never sent the message in question.

"I can assure you that is not her Twitter account and I have had the account suspended," manager Jillian Neal told TheWrap on Sunday.

In comments issued to People, Bonet's manager also said that the actress does not have any social media accounts and that anyone posting messages under her name is an "impersonator."

As for what Bonet thinks about the numerous accusations of sexual assault that have been waged against Cosby in recent days, Neal told both outlets that she "continues to have no comment" on the matter.

Bonet isn't the only former "The Cosby Show" star to speak out, as actress Raven-Symoné — who played Olivia — recently took aim at some of the other rumors circulating.

"I was NOT taking advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show! I was practically a baby on that show and this is truly a disgusting rumor that I want no part of!" she wrote on Instagram last week. "Everyone on that show treated me with nothing but kindness. Now keep me out of this!"
