Man Took a 'Cocktail of Drugs' and Jumped Off a Bridge to Flee Police — but the Chase Didn't End There

"I saw him crash to the ground."

Police in Tijuana, Mexico, recently were called to investigate reports of a disturbance. That disturbance turned out to be a man, half-naked and very clearly under the influence of something.

Police cornered him on a bridge, but the man, identified as 35-year-old Hilario Guajardo, wasn't about to let that be the end of it: He jumped — from a height of 20 feet, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Dashcam video shows Guajardo landed flat on his back before — incredibly — getting back up and walking away as if nothing had happened.

Police, posted the video Saturday, suggested the reason Guajardo did not show a reaction after jumping from the bridge was because he consumed a "cocktail of drugs" that night.

"This incident highlights the sort of danger officers face on a daily basis when dealing with people who have taken a cocktail of drugs," the Tijuana secretary of public security said on the police Facebook page. "It makes them do things that they would never normally dream of, they put their own lives and the lives of others in danger, and also in some cases seem to have almost superhuman abilities to ignore pain."

Eyewitness Jorge Jr. Fosado Lopez, who captured the event on his vehicle dash cam, said he couldn't believe what just happened: "I saw him crash to the ground and was expecting him to stay lying on the ground but he just got up and walked off with no visible sign of injury."

Officers later ran down from the bridge and arrested Guajardo. It is not clear yet which charges he's facing.
