Stewart Mocks Kerry's Visit to France in Scathing Segment: 'Are You Trying to Get Us in a War?

"James Taylor singing 'You've Got a Friend!'"

Comedy Central's Jon Stewart mocked Secretary of State John Kerry Monday night for what critics have said was an awkward trip to France in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks.

Stewart started his segment suggesting that Kerry's love of French culture made him the perfect person to go on a "charm offensive."

However, the liberal comedian appeared to quickly change his mind after playing footage of Kerry's uncomfortable-looking greeting with France's president and James Taylor's performance of "You've Got a Friend."

"Are you trying to get us in a war, is that what this is?" Stewart asked. "James Taylor singing 'You've Got a Friend!'"
