See the Final Seconds of Major Music Star's Grammy Performance That Have Gone Essentially Unreported
February 09, 2015
"I forgot to say it earlier, but..."
After performing his Grammy Award-winning song, “Happy,” live at the Grammys on Sunday night, Pharrell delivered a heartfelt message that has essentially gone unreported.
“Thank you, God. I forgot to say it earlier, but as you can see, I am at your service, Lord,” he said.
Watch the moment at around the 3:25 mark:
Most reports on Pharrell’s performance focused on his choice of outfit and the racially-charged “hands up, don’t shoot” gesture he included in his act. He also had some dancers in hoodies in reference to the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
However, the God-centered message has received very little media coverage.
Pharrell won three Grammys on Sunday, including awards for best music video, best pop solo performance and best urban contemporary album.
