Awkward: Pop Star Wins Big at BET Awards -- but Watch the Moment She Had to Stop the Entire Thing and Ask an Embarrassing Question
June 29, 2015
"I'm sorry."
Sunday night's BET Awards produced some magic moments, including the brief disappearance of Diddy previously covered on TheBlaze. But one of the most embarrassing moments of the night happened as pop star Nicki Minaj was named the winner of the "Viewers' Choice Award."
After being handed the trophy, Minaj started her acceptance speech before realizing she had no idea what she had just won (and it only took six seconds for Minaj to forget why she was standing on stage with an award in her hands).
She turned to the two hosts on the side of the stage and said, "Uh, what was this award for? I'm sorry." People in the audience responded, shouting "Viewers' Choice Award."
An embarrassed Minaj finally realized why she was there, gushing, "Oh, oh...'Viewers' Choice!' Oh my God, y'all. Thank you!"

Minaj eventually righted her ship and doled out some advice to her fans:
