User on Pro-Islamic State Website Sees Muslim Message Hidden in NASA's Pluto Photos

"These were made by God almighty on the surface of Pluto."

A user posting on a pro-Islamic State website saw what he believes to be an Arabic message on the surface of Pluto in photos captured last month by NASA’s New Horizons flight.

According to Britain’s Daily Mirror, the unnamed activist took to the site to claim he sees the Arabic script for "Allah" and "Muhammad" on either side of the heart-shaped feature on Pluto’s surface.

"When we look carefully at this photo of Pluto, we will notice an Arabic sentence which means Allah loves Muhammad," the user wrote, according to a translation from the Mirror.

Essentially, the sentence could be read “Allah (hearts) Muhammad.”

"Since the heart is so big, that means 'so much love or 'God loves Muhammad so much.’  These were made by God almighty on the surface of Pluto," the activist wrote.

The activist said that NASA’s blurred image of Pluto’s moon Hydra appeared to look like the Arabic word Muhammad. (Photo: NASA)

He also said that the dwarf planet’s moon Hydra appears to be in the shape of Muhammad’s name as written in Arabic.

"I would suggest to NASA to change the name of this moon to: The Moon of Mohammad," the activist wrote.

The Mirror reported that the claims were posted on a website often used to post Islamic State propaganda and videos.
