U.S. C-130 Transport Plane Crashes in Afghanistan; Six American Servicemembers, Five Civilians Dead

A U.S. C-130 crashed at Jalalabad Airport in Afghanistan early Friday morning, a defense official confirmed to TheBlaze.

The defense official said that the status of passengers and crew members was unknown. NBC News, citing a U.S. military official, reported that 12 people, including five American service members, were killed in the incident.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

"We are gathering further information," the defense official told TheBlaze.
