Schumer's advice came as Republicans used a congressional break to ponder their next move following current Speaker of the House John Boehner's (R-Ohio) surprise decision to step down and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) surprise announcement that he would not vie the top spot in the House.
