Caught on Video: Florida Man Goes on Violent Rampage, Attacks Victims With Metal Pole, Samurai Sword

Police in Lauderhill, Florida had quite a weekend, judging by two bizarre attacks that were caught on security cameras.

Folks in Lauderhill, Florida, had quite a weekend, judging by two bizarre attacks that were caught on security cameras.

The strange events began when a man entered a Shell gas station Sunday morning, WFOR-TV reported. Surveillance cameras show the man entering the station, and then leaving, only to return moments later wielding a piece of metal pole he pulled from his pocket.

In the video, the man officials later identified as 22-year-old Jovaughn Walker charges at an elderly couple, hitting the man in the face with the metal pole. The victim’s wife can be seen shoving her husband’s attacker away.

After this, Walker allegedly fled the scene in a stolen Ford Explorer and drove to a Swap Shop on West Sunrise Boulevard where he continued his violent rampage by attacking an employee with a samurai sword taken from a store display.

Surveillance footage shows the employee drop to the ground and attempt to kick his assailant as onlookers scream in horror.

After the second event, the attacker ran off again while the victim hurled something at him. Witnesses then grabbed Walker and held him until law enforcement arrived, Lauderhill police said.

Walker was taken into custody and was still being held as of Tuesday afternoon.

It remains unclear why the attacks were carried out.

Walker has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery. Police said he had marijuana on him at the time of his arrest.

Though no one was killed in the attacks, both victims received medical treatment — stitches for the elderly man and hand surgery for the shop employee.
