Comedian Louis C.K. Compares 'Insane Bigot' Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler — and Reaction to His Words Is Fierce

Comedian Louis C.K. is one of the latest critics to tackle Donald Trump after he criticized the presidential candidate, calling him an "insane bigot" while comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

In an expletive-laden Saturday morning email announcing the sixth episode of his web series “Horace and Pete,” C.K. added his voice to the growing numbers of Trump's critics, urging his readers in a lengthy postscript to the original email avoid voting for Trump at all costs, according to Variety.

“Please stop it with voting for Trump,” C.K. wrote, according to Variety. “It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the ’30s. Do you think they saw the s**t coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.”

In his email, C.K. bemoaned the state of modern politics.

"When I was growing up and when I was a younger man, liberals and conservatives were friends with differences. They weren’t enemies," C.K. wrote. "And it always made sense that everyone gets a president they like for a while and then hates the president for a while. But it only works if the conservatives put up a good candidate. A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time. Trump is not that. He’s an insane bigot. He is dangerous."

C.K. proceeded to admit that he could sympathize with frustrated American voters who feel that they should vote for Trump as "a way of saying 'f*** it. F*** them all.'"

"I really get it. It’s a version of national Suicide," C.K. stated. "If you are a true conservative. Don’t vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him. Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you. In fact, if you do vote for Trump, at least look at him very carefully first. You owe that to the rest of us. Know and understand who he is."

C.K. implored American voters to refrain from voting for Trump because "Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us. He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real. But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that."

Varied reactions to C.K.'s anti-Trump tirade continued to pour in on Sunday.

"I have a huge problem with Louis CK tossing around the Hitler comparison," wrote one commenter. "I have no intention of voting for Mr. Trump. But my reasoning has nothing to do with twisted comparisons to Adolf Hitler. Louis CK’s comparisons are ridiculous, irresponsible and insulting to anybody who suffered the repercussions of Adolf Hitler’s maniacal reign of terror during the 1930’s and 1940’s."

"Yeah this is complete insanity! I love CK but it’s insane how clueless people are to what’s actually going on in politics at the moment," another wrote. "Trump is a mad man but at least you know this and aren’t voting for an illusion. Pull the curtain back people!"

"There is so much that is f****d up about this article that it is difficult to know where to start," another commenter wrote. "How about, it’s riddled with lies and hate-fantasies and insults without any basis except in CKs sick mind. Which is the ONLY place it belongs."

"Louis CK, you have courage," wrote another commenter. "America thanks you for speaking up."
