The owner of the store told police that he briefly feared for his life before he realized the gun was fake.
A man was arrested after he attempted to rob a store at gunpoint — with a squirt gun — according to police.
Amanuel Perkins was charged after he allegedly tried to rob a Missouri business at gunpoint using “a multicolored water pistol,” according to KMOV-TV.
Perkins allegedly entered the Sole Survivor Leather store in Maplewood and brandished the water gun as he demanded money from the store’s owner.
The owner of the store told police that he briefly feared for his life before he realized the gun was fake.
He then pushed Perkins’ fake gun away and kicked him out of his store. Police later arrested him.
Perkins claimed that the incident was a joke for St. Patrick’s Day. He was charged with one count of attempted first-degree robbery.
