Here’s the 2016 Presidential Candidate Orlando Terrorist Omar Mateen Reportedly Supported

"We talked about the presidential election and debated our views of the candidates that were running ..."

In his Washington Post column titled "I Reported Omar Mateen to the FBI. Trump Is Wrong That Muslims Don't Do Our Part," Mohammed A. Malik wrote that he and Mateen — the terrorist who killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando two weekends ago — would talk from time to time.

Malik said Mateen once revealed he was viewing videos of a radical imam, which led to Malik dropping a dime on him to the FBI. The subsequent probe went nowhere.

He added that Mateen chatted with him in January at a dinner where the topic turned political.

"We talked about the presidential election and debated our views of the candidates that were running – he liked Hillary Clinton and I liked Bernie Sanders," Malik recalled.

Malik wrote that they continued to chat until their final conversation in mid-May.
