"I think it would be totally inappropriate to have a news conference ..."
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Thursday night he delayed the announcement of his vice presidential pick "in light of" the deadly terror attack in Nice, France.
But Fox News host Bill O'Reilly, speaking on telephone to Trump on Thursday, asked the candidate, "Did the terror attack influence your selection of your vice president?"
"No, absolutely not," replied Trump, adding, "I think it would be totally inappropriate to have a news conference on a vice presidential pick tomorrow in light of so many people killed and so many wounded."
O'Reilly attempted to pin Trump down and get confirmation from the candidate about reports that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will be his running mate.
But Trump did not take the bait: "It will have nothing to do with this attack, the choice."
