“Too dang old to be going down water slides. Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff," a description of the video read.
According to KDFW-TV, emergency personnel had a hard time reaching Salmon because of where the slide was located. Salmon was taken to Round Rock hospital in Austin, where he was told the extent of his injuries: a broken arm, several broken ribs and lacerations, cuts and bruises on his back, arms and side.
But even after the traumatic experience, he was able to look on the bright side.
"Just found out I don't need surgery so that's good news!" he wrote.
As of Wednesday, the video Salmon posted had received nearly 1 million views on Facebook.
