Joy Behar, co-host of ABC's "The View," launched into a unhinged rant Monday, demanding that President-elect Donald Trump "step down" before his Junuary inauguration.
Behar's comments came as the five-woman panel was responding to a Washington Post report from late last week, which revealed that a secret CIA assessment found that Russia did interfere in the U.S. election to aid Trump.
"It’s like they are discrediting the CIA — his campaign and he, the president-elect of this country, is discrediting the organization that basically protects us from foreign invasion,” Behar said. "Isn’t it time for him to step down?"
"I mean, he has to step down before the inauguration before they give him the nuclear codes," she added.
The liberal commentator went on to mention one of Trump's former campaign managers — Paul Manafort — who stepped down from his position in the campaign last summer due to his ties to Russia.
"Do we have to wait until the hammer and sickle is on the American flag until we stand up to this guy?" Behar inquired.
Still, despite Behar's claims — which allege that Trump's campaign colluded with Russia — the president-elect said over the weekend that the Russian election manipulation claims are "ridiculous." To note, the FBI said in October that they found no connection between anyone in Trump's campaign and Russia during an investigation.
The liberal Behar has been none too happy about Trump's win. She even alleged last week that Trump is "mentally ill" and that he would bring "mental illness" to the White House: "Maybe we can still get him out. There’s a possibility. He’s not right in the head. Donald Trump has never appeared stable to me when he has come on the show. No, he has not."
