Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) took to Twitter late Friday to lament over the "shrinking" middle class, but Twitter users quickly pointed out a huge problem with her tweet.
"The middle class is shrinking & income inequality is increasing," Harris tweeted.
"We must focus on the basics: good-paying jobs & affordable healthcare," she said.

Twitter users agreed with Harris' points, but quickly challenged her over her implication that these problems are because of President Donald Trump.
Instead, users informed Harris that former President Barack Obama, one of Harris' close friends, is responsible for the economic problems facing Americans, in addition to the "failed policies" of "liberal progressive Democrats."
@KamalaHarris thanks to the incompetence of Obama and the Democratic Party!— Trump Trump (@Trump Trump) 1489213081.0
@KamalaHarris @Cali_Deplorable Yes, the BHO economy was horrifying, thank god we have a business leader like President Trump to rescue us— Joe America (@Joe America) 1489221997.0
@KamalaHarris that what Trump & GOP r doing, what u list r results of 8 yrs of Obama & his progressive liberal policies. It's changing now— Mike F (@Mike F) 1489254675.0
Still others blamed Obama's signature legislative acheivement as president, the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare:
@KamalaHarris I thought we already had affordable health care? It says so right in the name "Affordable Healthcare Act"— Charles Signorile (@Charles Signorile) 1489259040.0
And yet you support the ACA, which is a huge tax on the middle class. Why, it's almost as if you're just a party ha… https://t.co/x3ULBzGKBl— Phineas Fahrquar (@Phineas Fahrquar) 1489206317.0
Needless to say, Trump is not responsible for any of the problems Harris listed, given that he's still less than two months into his presidency.
