More than a dozen companies boycott Laura Ingraham — but it's already backfiring big time

More than a dozen companies that sponsored Fox News host Laura Ingraham have bailed on her in a boycott initiated by high school student David Hogg and orchestrated by the far-left.

But now, conservatives and fans of Ingraham are fighting back.

What's going on?

The companies boycotting Ingraham are mostly major household names, including Office Depot, Gerber, Hulu, Honda, Johnson and Johnson, among others. As of Sunday afternoon, the list has swelled to 17 companies.

It's not clear exactly why the companies chose to remove their advertising from Ingraham's show other than the fact that far-left groups were applying pressure, but it may not end well for those that caved.

That's because conservatives and loyal Fox News viewers are using the power of the dollar to fight back. In response to the boycott, hundreds, possibly thousands, of people have vowed to disassociate themselves and their hard earned money from companies that have caved to the liberal mob.

People, using the hashtag "#IStandWithLaura," posted their commitments to social media while others encouraged the counter-boycott.

Got it. Making the list. Canceled Trip Advisor, never a Rachel Ray product again, looking at every label for Johnson and Johnson, and we'll add Nestles.

Any additional details?

Because of the advertiser exodus, Ingraham's ratings went down during the second half of last week.

And on Friday, Ingraham announced she would not be hosting her show this week due to a pre-planned Easter vacation. Fox News told TheBlaze the "break" was in no way connected to the advertiser boycott and Ingraham would return to the airwaves after her vacation.

Still, it's not immediately clear what the future holds for Ingraham, the newest addition to Fox's primetime lineup. If more companies bail, Ingraham's future at Fox could be in serious jeopardy. But for now, no immediate signs exist suggesting Ingraham will lose her job.
