​Australian annoyed over seeing 'too many American flags' during her stateside trip gets massive lesson on US patriotism

An Australian female TikToker recently posted a video expressing her annoyance over seeing "too many American flags" during her stateside travels, the New York Post reported.

Here's Mia Chloe giving a piece of her mind to the land of the free and the home of the brave:

Here's the text of her rant — minus nearly all of her "like" utterances:

I’m just gonna say it. There are too many American flags. ... They’re on houses, they’re on cars, saw them on couch cushions. ... I don't know who's making these American flags, but they'd be making a bloody fortune. ... You're the only country that I know that does this. ... The only time I think I’ve seen an Australian flag is on the [Sydney] Harbour Bridge. Could not tell you what it looks like. ... I know it’s, like, blue, and it’s got some stars on it. But I think I could draw the American flag from memory. ... I think I can make a bloody sculpture out of it. That's how many times I've seen it. It’s enough. Let’s pull back on it, okay? Let’s stay humble.

So, it appears what we have here is a rather young person from another country freely traveling as a guest in the U.S. who's mined her many years of wisdom to lecture Americans about their dumb flag apparently visible to her everywhere.

Let's revisit her final commands: "It's enough. Let’s pull back on it, okay? Let’s stay humble."

It's worth pointing out that "let's" is the contraction for "let us," which is a curious verbal usage given there is no "us." Chloe isn't part of the "us" she expresses — only Americans are — but perhaps she feels as though she's tapped into that privilege, even as a visitor. Or maybe America just has that effect on outsiders.

As you might expect, quite a few folks shot back at Chloe and gave her a resounding lesson in American patriotism — with a healthy dose of defiance thrown in.

Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott gave Chloe quite a noteworthy suggestion: "Go back to Australia."

Here are some others:

• "My grandfather didn’t fight in WW2 for some Australian twit to say she doesn’t like all the flags," one commenter said. "Shut the hell up."
• "I’m a farmer who’s flown our great American flag on this farm my whole life, just as the generations before me. Don’t come to our country hating Americans' patriotism," another commenter said. "I personally will buy you a one-way ticket back to Australia ASAP."
• "I’ll never pull back, be humble, or stop loving America," another commenter declared. "Go back to Australia if you don’t like America. We don’t want you here."
• "Better turn the other way when you drive by my home, then," another commenter warned. "There’s an American flag out front."

Of course, not every Australian shares Chloe's perspective. One Down Under resident offered that "as an Aussie who just spent two weeks in Texas, I found the presence of the flags inspiring. I wish we had that kind of patriotism back home. Unfortunately, these kids have no pride and respect for their country (or others). And I've seen a corresponding lack of courtesy and respect for others as well."

In the end, the Post said Chloe deactivated her TikTok page @meanderwithmedia "after it became clear Americans did not take kindly to the Australian calling out the nation’s pride and display of patriotism."
