Blogger discovers small detail in Brian Laundrie's social media account that may indicate he's still alive

A Minnesota blogger noticed a minute detail on a social media account of Brian Laundrie, the only person of interest in the Gabby Petito case, that may indicate that he's still alive.

Law enforcement officials have mounted a massive manhunt since Laundrie left his parents' home for a hike through a Florida nature reserve and never came back.

While some have theorized that Laundrie might have taken his own life, blogger Shaynah Dodge believes there's evidence that he might still be alive and using a social media account.

"Three weeks ago I posted in my stories about Brian's Pinterest account," Dodge wrote on Instagram to her more than 77,000 followers.

"In my screen gab from three weeks ago he followed 145 people," she explained. "Tonight I was scrolling some of his pins on his account and I noticed this... He now follows 146 people. That's weird right?"

Dodge said she was sure it was Laundrie's account because it had shared boards with the accounts of Gabby Petito and his mother.

Authorities have not released any information about Laundrie's whereabouts they may have ascertained in their search.

A coroner said last week that there was evidence that Gabby Petito died from manual strangulation about three to four weeks before her remains were found.

Petito's parents have accused Laundrie's parents of knowing more than they are saying. An attorney for the Laundrie family said that the father of Brian Laundrie was assisting in the law enforcement search for his son.

"Chris was asked to point out any favorite trails or spots that Brian may have used in the preserve," read a statement from attorney Steven Bertolino.

Brian Laundrie, who had been Petito's fiancée, has not been named as suspect in her death, but he has been charged with fraud over his alleged unauthorized use of a debit card after Petito's death.
