Here are the House Democrats who refuse to attend Trump's State of the Union address

A number of lawmakers felt the need to announce they would be skipping the president's speech

Four Democratic members of Congress — so far — have announced they will definitely not be in attendance for President Donald Trump's State of the Union address in the House chamber on Tuesday. A fifth teased that she might skip, but did urge Americans to tune it out.

Here are their names and statements:

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.)

Rep. Earl Blumenauer wrote on Facebook Monday: "The thought of spending Tuesday night in the House Chamber, listening to the reckless, self-centered man who occupies the White House holds no interest for me."

The congressman from Oregon then shared a script of how he thinks the State of the Union speech script should read "if Trump were being honest."

Blumenauer also took to Twitter saying, "The amount of damage, division and confusion Trump has inflicted on the American people over the last six weeks (and two years) has intentionally hamstrung our work in Congress."

"I refuse to be witness to his continued antics tomorrow night at the State of the Union address," he added.

The Hill reported that 14 House Democrats boycotted President Trump's State of the Union address in 2018.
