Hunter Biden's lawyer asks for ethics investigation into Marjorie Taylor Greene over 'conspiracy theories' and 'unhinged rhetoric'

Hunter Biden's lawyer sent a letter to the Office of Congressional Ethics to ask that it address possible violations by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, "Timcast" reported.

In a letter sent April 24, 2023, Biden's attorney Abbe David Lowell asked the office to "initiate a review of and take appropriate action as a result of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA 14th C.D.) suspected violations of House Ethics rules and standards of official conduct."

Lowell cited "continuous verbal attacks, defamatory statements, publication of personal photos and data, and promotion of conspiracy theories about and against Robert Hunter Biden."

"None of these could possibly be deemed to be part of any legitimate legislative activity, as is clear from both the content of her statements and actions, and the forums she uses to spew her often unhinged rhetoric," the letter read.

Particularly, the Biden team pointed to "House Rule XXIII" from the House code of conduct, which according to the letter states that "all members of the House must conduct themselves at all times 'in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.'"

The letter took issue with nearly everything Representative Greene has said "since her election to Congress in 2020 (and before)," saying she has engaged in "steady, dogged verbal and defamatory attacked against Mr. Biden, and members of his family."

Six days before the letter, Greene posted a video taken in front of the Treasury building in which she said that she "just saw evidence of human trafficking, this involved prostitutes, not only from here in the United States but foreign countries like Russia and Ukraine."

"This is unbelievable [for] a president and former vice president, not only his son, Hunter Biden, but many more family members extending past Hunter Biden and his immediately family," she said.

The letter points to the caption of the video, which stated, “The Biden crime family participated in human trafficking by soliciting prostitutes from the United States and abroad in countries like Russia and Ukraine.”

Biden's attorney called the statements "false, defamatory, and malicious, but they are undignified from a Member of Congress and far beyond anything close to genuine legislative activities or political advocacy."

The day the letter was sent, Greene invited Biden to "come chat" with the Congressional Oversight Committee.

"Hunter is upset over my statements. Well, Hunter, the entire country is p***** off about your obvious influence peddling with your daddy’s political power. Come chat with us Republicans on the Oversight Committee. We have a lot of questions," she wrote.

On April 25, 2023, Greene wrote that "Hunter Biden attorneys" were "whining" about Biden's "very likely disgusting criminal activity like human sex trafficking."

"Also, you might pick up other Biden family members as clients. Our list of Bidens just keeps getting longer," the congresswoman continued.

"The House Oversight Committee is actively conducting investigations into Hunter Biden and the rest of the Biden family for a multitude of potential crimes," a spokesperson for Greene told TheBlaze.

"Congresswoman Greene has been very vocal on the subject and I’d point to those," they added.
