Intruder beat chest, ate grass, then twice punched holes through door's glass; homeowner shot him each time, but he kept getting up. Fatal shots came after he busted door down.

Investigators said a Louisiana home intruder was seen on video beating his chest and eating grass before twice punching holes through glass in a home's door earlier this month, WAFB-TV reported.

What's more, officials said the homeowner shot the intruder after each punch, but the intruder kept getting up, the station said.

Finally, the intruder busted through the door, after which the homeowner shot him several more times, WAFB said, adding that the final shots proved fatal.

What are the details?

Around 6 a.m. June 4, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an attempted home break-in on Tiggy Duplessis Road in Ascension Parish, the station said.

Investigators said the suspect — identified as Kameron Serigny, 20, of Gonzales — first tried to break into a car in the driveway, which triggered the car alarm and alerted homeowners, WAFB said.

The suspect was seen on home security cameras eating grass and beating on his chest, investigators added to the station.

Video also shows the suspect punching a hole through the glass in the home’s door, after which the homeowner fired one shot, and the suspect fell to the ground, WAFB said.

The suspect then reportedly got up and punched another hole through the glass, the station said, after which the homeowner shot him again, and the suspect fell to the ground again.

Yet the suspect got up for a third time, slammed himself into the door, and broke it open, WAFB said.

With that, investigators told the station the homeowner fired three to four additional shots, killing the suspect.

Deputies said Serigny was found in the home's rear entrance threshold, WAFB reported.

Detectives with the sheriff's office Violent Crimes Unit investigated and received information that corroborated the homeowner’s statement, the station said.

Serigny was believed to have used an illegal substance before the incident, detectives noted to WAFB, which added that a toxicology report is pending.

The homeowner has not been charged, officials told the station.
