Muslim US Rep. Rashida Tlaib: Sticky note on my door calling out 'Jihad against the Jews' is 'hateful rhetoric & bullying'

'Stop your disgusting Jew hatred'

Muslim U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) — who's been accused of deep, anti-Semitic ties — posted on Twitter a photo of a sticky note affixed to her office sign saying "stop your disgusting Jew hatred" and "your Jihad against the Jews will fail."

The scrawled message — which ended with the phrase "Am Yisrael Chai" (i.e., " the people of Israel live") — was addressed to fellow Muslim U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), but Tlaib hit back anyway.

"This is the hateful rhetoric & bullying on my door today," Tlaib wrote. "Stop the fear mongering & blantant [sic] lies. Come here w/ the value that all beings deserve human rights, including Palestinians. [Omar] & I fight for equality & justice for all. There's nothing antisemitic about that!"

A little background

It isn't clear if the sticky note was meant for Omar and was placed on the wrong door, or if it was meant for Tlaib and the author flubbed the name — but neither of the freshman congresswomen are particularly known for Israel support.

Tlaib — who made huge headlines her first day in office when she referenced President Donald Trump to a crowd of supporters at a MoveOn celebration, saying, "We're gonna impeach the motherf***er!" — was accused of making an anti-Semitic dual-loyalty smear while voicing her opposition to legislation combating anti-Israel boycotts.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said as much:

  • Tlaib — the first Palestinian-American woman elected to Congress — also wrote for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan's publication, The Final Call.
  • She also hosted a private celebratory dinner after taking office that included anti-Israel activists who praised the terror group Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorists, said Israel has no right to exist, and called for Israeli "Zionist terrorist" Jews to return to Europe, Fox News reported.
  • Omar has made even bigger headlines than Tlaib for anti-Semitism, actually forcing House Democrats to draft a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in response to statements she's made.
  • Omar also reportedly has been secretly fundraising for Islamic activist groups with terrorist ties, and on Tuesday she lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just hours after he responded to Omar's anti-Semitic comments related to pro-Israel American politicians.
