20 contractors will battle it out to build Trump’s wall

Twenty contractors are competing to win the contract for President Donald Trump’s wall on the border of the U.S. and Mexico.

On “Pat & Stu,” the guys talked about the upcoming project and wondered if the 20 contractors will have to compete Reality TV-style to win the bid.

“A lot of reality show stuff goes on with the president. … He’s going to go into a boardroom and actually fire the people who don’t win the wall contest,” Stu Burguiere said in suggestion of how the contest might look.

US Customs and Border Protection said Monday that the start of the proposed border wall will be built in San Diego. Otay Mesa, a community within San Diego that holds one of two border crossings in the county, will be the site where the wall starts.

The 20 bidders will erect prototypes of their vision for the border wall, with a winning contractor selected around June 1.

“It’ll be a beautiful wall. Big beautiful door. You don’t understand how great it will be. … Believe me,” Stu said in imitation of the president.
