Is Steve Bannon giving legitimate scoops to fake news sites?

On Wednesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program,” Glenn Beck talked about how former White House adviser Steve Bannon is playing a dangerous game by giving real news scoops to conspiracy theory websites like Infowars.

Legitimate scoops will “prop up” these kinds of crazy sites and their conspiracy theories, while undermining actual news sources, Beck asserted. Bannon is fueling conspiracy theories for Infowars and even crazier sources because if people hear one story that turns out to be correct, they’ll believe more of that website’s coverage. As Glenn pointed out:

“So when you hear that, you know, the government is putting fluoride in the water to turn the frogs gay or whatever he’s saying, people will say, ‘Yeah, I know that sounds crazy, but he was right on this, this and this. He was the first guy who had that.'”

Beck also noted that Bannon is purposely adding to the madness by validating the craziest voices:

“This is the slash and burn of the media. This is make the most ridiculous people, give them some credibility to truly confuse the waters.”
