Listen: Is your state in the top 10 for popular moving destinations? Check out the list
January 18, 2018
What’s going on?
What do Vermont, South Dakota and Nevada have in common? They’re all on the list of the most popular states that Americans are moving to, according to a new survey from United Van Lines. The Midwest and Pacific West parts of the country seem to be popular as Americans move for new jobs, to retire or to be closer to family.
Give me the list:
The top 10 places that Americans are moving to are …
- South Dakota
- Vermont
- Oregon
- Idaho
- South Carolina
- Washington
- District of Columbia
- North Carolina
- Nevada
- Arizona
What else should I know?
New Jersey, Illinois, New York and Connecticut also ranked on a list – the list of “outbound” states that people are leaving. The top five states that people are moving away from are New Jersey, Illinois, New York, Connecticut and Kansas.
On today’s show, Doc and Kal looked at these two lists and tried to figure out Americans’ motivations for moving to or from these states.
To see more from Doc, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” weekdays 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
