May Day protesters switch focus from workers' rights to this

Thousands of demonstrators around the country have planned marches and protests today in honor of May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, the origins of which are rooted in socialism and communism.

May 1 has been chosen as a day to protest on behalf of workers’ rights, but this year, groups advocating for issues across the board are gathering to protest President Donald Trump.

On Monday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson,” Doc Thompson and the guys decided to practice some of the demonstrators’ chants about “freedom,” “power,” and “revolution.” In one example, protesters could chant “You can’t stop the revolution / People power is the solution.”

Some of the other protest included calls of “abolish the police” and “anti-capitalism” advocacy.

Doc reminded the audience that these protests are fueled by liberal thought; for example, the March for Science earlier this month was not simply about science but also about climate change and a progressive agenda pushing for more government funding.

To see more from Doc, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” weekdays 6–9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
